- Unit-I: Knowledge of general safety, health and hygiene
- Unit-II: Importance of mushroom, Scope of mushroom cultivation, past and present status and future prospects
- Unit-III: Cultivation process. Nutritional and medicinal value of mushroom
- Unit-IV: Types of mushroom, cultivation of paddy straw mushroom, preservation of mushroom, disease of mushroom and their remedies
- Unit-V: Marketing
Practical:
- Selection and processing of straw for bed preparation
- Sterilization process practice
- Preparation of bed for cultivation of various mushroom and its maintenance
- Growing an identification of viable spawn
- Post-harvesting case and processing
- Visit to mushroom farm
Course Evaluation: Regular monthly assignments and final examination at the end of the course.
