Theory:

• Unit-I: Knowledge of general safety, health and hygiene
• Unit-II: Importance of mushroom, Scope of mushroom cultivation, past and present status and future prospects
• Unit-III: Cultivation process. Nutritional and medicinal value of mushroom
• Unit-IV: Types of mushroom, cultivation of paddy straw mushroom, preservation of mushroom, disease of mushroom and their remedies
• Unit-V: Marketing

Practical:

• Selection and processing of straw for bed preparation
• Sterilization process practice
• Preparation of bed for cultivation of various mushroom and its maintenance
• Growing an identification of viable spawn
• Post-harvesting case and processing
• Visit to mushroom farm

Course Evaluation: Regular monthly assignments and final examination at the end of the course.
